Ground almonds, also known as almond meal is made from almonds which are first blanched, and then ground into a powder. While very similar to almond flour, ground almonds or almond meal is not as fine as almond flour, but many people do interchange the two in recipes. Ground almonds, are most often used in baking as a substitute to grains, as opposed to flour.
